E’ francamente incredibile la propensione umana all’invidia.
Riflettevo oggi su come gli esseri umani siano così tanto legati al loro Dio, pur non avendolo mai visto né conosciuto. Milioni di persone assoggettate ad un fantasma, ad un simbolo, disposti a sostenerlo e a difenderlo ad ogni costo. Non bastano le evidenze storiche (una bibbia piena di atrocità, un collage di storie tramandate da secoli da popolazioni di ogni dove), non basta neanche il buon senso scientifico (quello per cui c’è una spiegazione logica ad ogni cosa, o perlomeno ci sarà). I meno arditi attaccheranno la tua coscienza lasciva, la tua mancanza di valori e di prospettive di vita (“cosa insegnerai ai tuoi figli?!”), i più coraggiosi cercheranno di riportarti sulla retta via, ma di certo i più divertenti sono coloro che, specie se sorretti dalla moderna cultura occidentale, ti verranno a dimostrare (se di dimostrazioni si vuol parlare, ovviamente) che Dio esiste. Perché così è e così deve essere. La scienza viene debellata dal loro fervore, la ragione messa alla gogna per il semplice fatto di non sapere, e la fede invece incoronata vincitrice incontrastata di un imbarazzante conflitto d’interessi.
