atheists Tips for a modern Christianity

The Church, especially in the past but even today, is the idea that Quentin Tarantino would of Christianity. Common sense, as well as many historical documents (the Bible itself in some sparkling passages, or the wonderful price list of indulgences contained in Taxa Camarao issued by Pope Leo X) give the idea of a Church cynical, resolute against the enemy, devoted to money and entrepreneurship, succubus and creator of maneuvers worthy of the ferocious power of statesmen, qualità che si sommano alle più note (bigottismo, oscurantismo, intolleranza). Jesus on the cross itself has become, in its original humility, a global symbol of ruthless and powerful engine of a brand revered and protected, directly or indirectly responsible for the worst social disasters in the world (just think of the massacres of imperialism or the holy Catholic inquisition, medieval zenith of ignorance). Fill rows on rows of sull'insensatezza religious magical thinking, as well as lavish a trivial clerical discourse, it would be too easy: they are both subjects of discussion in which even the most devout Catholic would find itself in blatant inferiority, overwhelmed by the amount of such rational evidence to impose a single way of rationally fuga, ossia la fede (comodo e caldo caposaldo di stregoni, sacerdoti e religiosi da migliaia di anni a questa parte). Come già ricordavo in altri contesti che, come questo, call into question our most visceral belief, the debate stops, positions remain unchanged (for a cause, the other for result), stops the flow of culture and ignorance prevails, supported by the numbers, and a marketing and a power capable of guaranteeing them generation after generation. The rest, as we know, is history. Instead, what is more interesting in this context, is to analyze the figure of the founder of that same movement, ie Jesus, not in its divine connotations (not proven, if not thousands of years old stories written by shepherds indeed easily emotional), but in its purely human characteristics.
Gesù ha pure precorso i time of the feminist movement (the real one), proposing a joint company in which they would not find place nor the ruthless machismo nor regrettable sale of the female body that is rampant on television and in contemporary society (with the approval of medieval boys and girls clearly prevail ambitious even in democratic voting locations). The militarization of nations, as well as the exploitation of weak countries for economic interests (energy), would not have existed in a truly Christian world. Ultimately, the most powerful evidence that a man could ever take his eyes (ie the world itself) is a relentless demonstration that Christianity has failed, how many and what are beautiful cathedrals built in his name. Bella, a lovely idea, but the practice does not exist. A bit 'like communism and the Middle Earth of Tolkien.

is not my intention, mind you, concluded with a burst of atheism as an end in itself. The absence of a religion does not have to configure itself as the only possible position in front of existence: even a more human as religious, pathetically (from a certain point of view) but certainly understandably turned to uncertainty as rational life after death and the search for a meaning to existence, deserves respect. On the other hand, several studies have investigated the spin human believe, to create meaningful connections from the real situation is not necessarily realistic or even low, so as to find meaningful patterns in data, feelings or circumstances, random, vague, or totally irrelevant. All this because nature has awarded the evolutionarily care beginning for purposes related to mere survival (in those cases where the false negative could cost you your life habit ...), then successfully applied over time to show, demons, ghosts and various deities (the concept of patternicity and agenticity of Michael Shermer ). The magical thinking and religious, in fact, deeply its roots in our ancient biology are therefore not here to criticize the instinctive need as such (in case they lead to critical consequences when wars, intolerance, bigotry, corruption, bias and injustice), I am here to criticize the instrumentalization and the extremes of this need, that is when the fears become more unquestionable, the differences become discrimination, injustice and discrimination. And 'why, from passionate admirer of Jesus as a historical figure, I can not help but criticize and ridicule the Catholic history. So why not stop with the stupid magic and curtail the religious tradition that makes everything weak in a rational debate - at least worthy of the twenty-first century? Why not get rid of those texts "sacred" but clearly inspired by earlier folk tales, full of macabre nonsense written by ignorant and backward, distillation, if anything (by means of a coherent interpretation of the text) only instruction culturally sensible to hand down under shared inheritance of hundreds of generations of men? Why not focus on the message text more closely to historical truth as the Gospel that - minus the folk narrative - about the life and, ultimately, the intentions of Jesus himself made man? Why not set aside the main weakness of the Christian religion as well as la conosciamo ora (ossia l'insensatezza di testi, ritualità e superstizioni, difetto che invero condivide un po' con tutte le religioni) portandola ad essere una più moderna filosofia del viver giusto e bene, costruita sugli insegnamenti di un uomo saggio che nulla avrebbe voluto di tutta questa Chiesa, né il potere, né il prestigio, né le faraoniche cattedrali, né l'imbarazzante successione di disgustose distorsioni delle sue parole e delle sue intenzioni?

The Old Testament sells fear and guilt, the New Testament is a good code of ethics. But (...) the message has never practiced. Fairytales to build churches. (The man from Earth)

What is lacking and needed in view of the Catholic religious (as in the religious landscape in general) is ultimately a update. And 'necessary in short, starting from the individual believer up until the ecclesiastical authority, be given top priority to critical and historical review, in order to convert the old traditions and secular dogmas in new directions, toward which to direct a new generation of the faithful no longer stifled by ignorance and bigotry but reasonably proud of their identity, an update intellectual reawakens the original message of Christ and it drags all the saving benefits in the new millennium a servizio e ad esempio dell'intera umanità.

How To Cut The Hair Your Behind Neck

defend the music in the street!

The Mayor of Trieste has ordered, by an order of September 20, 2010, the substantial removal of all street musicians, singers and storytellers from the streets of downtown, the Teatro Rossetti far as the banks.

The livability of this city is threatened by desertification of urban areas and by the continued attacks on the poor, the homeless, immigrants.

After nice parade on Monday ...
We meet
Saturday, October 23 at 18:00 Piazza Cavana
Bring a musical instrument and a hat ... and spread the word!

Basically, we will be in place to hear and play music. But also to defend the freedom to do so in the street. If you think what is important, come and spread the word about what is happening. Read

Littlest Pet Shop Party Supplies Austin

moral balance in a democratic skepticism

For having the ambition (certainly not the claim) to change for the better, you need to act where evidence of benefit is more concrete (at the supermarket, in fact), so mundane and plebeian ways (in the pejorative sense of the word) even seem to be misplaced. Need to know where to stick the word yellow pad promotion. Yes, it is a hoax, albeit with good intentions, but it is necessary: the conscious evolution will come later, most of the time unknowingly.
Determine what moral values to put in balance, thus promoting them in the eyes of the common man for a purpose more noble than he is able to understand, is undoubtedly complex. In decision-making is not only to reflect the quality and effectiveness of a particular ideal, but also the social context in which it is inserted, and the set of all irrational claims that surround the adoption or not. For men are wont to be proud of its ideals, and their supporters claim them as bases of their own identity within the group and, ultimately, is the main manifestation of the narcissism of self against the herd (the ideal you support the man who painted six). For this reason we establish the power games that transcend their value, falling into something more utilitarian as such, less general and therefore less useful for the masses. In your supermarket of morality, in other words, you'll need to discern and ignore the biased opinions of guests (which, as such demand balance in the products that are used to buy) and decide what is best for the supermarket, for the country, for the state, even for the whole world: the customer first s'arrabbierà, but the benefit of the discounted product eventually persuade him to buy. S'accorgerà unconsciously assume that the product is also the best, and will become a fervent supporter, repeating the chant until the arrival of the next new ideal in rebate to be rejected on behalf of their miserable bagaglio culturale.
A questo proposito, l'argomentazione principe di ogni disfattista di fronte alle problematiche morali è l'assenza di oggettività nella morale : costoro si limitano a scegliere l’ideale in base alla confezione, all’umore del momento or on the basis of pleasing presence of the opposite sex in the ward, so everything is relative. On the other hand, the main topic of every extremist conservative face the same is the exaltation of one's sense of morality, once placed in the context that best suits your needs victory in the debate (with others and with itself): that customer will buy more and thus only the products themselves, regardless of discounts applied to the other, or even more likely wary of them. The more sedate but simply to tip the balance toward their own opinions without a thorough analysis of the moral dilemma, since no traditional approach analysis seems to work in their opinion on an entity as smoky as the moral. In short, a quick shopping without worrying too much about anything: there is a home game, you can not miss. E 'but instead should be stressed that morality has its origins in biology , and its real value in the narrow utilitarianism in objective assessment of benefits arising from a particular course of conduct over another. And 'no doubt that each choice, moral or otherwise, lead to consequences, which as such (as in a context) can be evaluated in terms of cost-effectiveness. What may seem rather cold, especially when moral issues at stake branch off into more intimate areas of human consciousness, but it is also surprising to realize that every moral question, if faced with the cold, rational numbers, and has solutions evident - why not - comforting. It 'so hasty and unfounded relativism of old in that lane, with the air of one who knows war and peace, you disillusioned about the quality of the products on display: there is a difference, my dear, and - wanting to look at - is well known very clearly.
That conclusion, relentless and extraordinary crowbar in every disquisition about it, but does nothing to improve the fortunes of the customer middle, locked in mediocrity daily and intellectually limited in their inability to find alternatives to this, he believes that wont surrender to despair with severe and inconsistent light. The 3x2 of the supermarket is the only math implausible, and this crystalline 2 +2 into the background as the background music, but apparently not biting - indeed - quite relaxing. The music really is revolutionary: the width of the building it dampens the effect, it meanly wadding the pace, but the music in reality is always different, as opposed to products that (in the discount or not) remain the same. The music conveys ideas and passions, dreams stimulates and strengthens the ambitions, but customers, stunned by a poor day as their own, if not n'accorgono. Customers s'adeguano then passing on what they see their pitiful height, what's on offer at best, because adaptation can download their own responsibility and guilt, too muffled ' them by mediocre day and boyish admiration for the storm color cosmetic products on display. So naively choose (there it is, democracy), we are fooled by the price (never more than now so low, some may say), the trust primo prodotto che vedono, magari del più visibile o del meglio pubblicizzato. Who pays, yes, but certainly not at the end of the day.

A half hour later, the customer approaches the cashier and you put in the queue. Its spending, to want to watch with detached eye of philosophy, is an essential glimpse of his life: the products it took for himself, while those who took for his family, those who left, what discounts it has received and . About puffing by the tail, who expects the patient, who is aware of the sadly forgotten items on the shelves, others vapor their pursuits to recover them in extremis, embarrassing the cashier, and disturbing others customers waiting. All
But in the end, always in line. Why should .

(a warm thank you to mrlem for the inspiration)

Barcolana racist

Over the weekend, at the Barcolana race that annually attracts hundreds of people in Trieste, in March of the First Committee Trieste wanted to be this to the streets to remember the thousands of migrants died at sea in an attempt to reach European shores.
Friday, October 8 at 18.00 there was a garrison unit in the square, during which hundreds of leaflets were distributed against the rejection and the racial laws.
Sunday, October 10 in the morning some activists went on the pier Bold and launched into the sea of silhouettes and white balloons to symbolize migrants died at sea. Others meanwhile have unfurled a banner of 10 meters and distributed leaflets to passers-by.
Later the shapes have been reset and put into square unit in the prefecture, the responsibility for reporting del governo italiano in queste stragi.

"I am here in this center-right, I I feel very protected as Catholic
"If there was Berlusconi, would be the only country in the world still oppressed by the Communist Party"
"have some sort of shield ... let him do this ... Italy now needs to be governed. Then if you did something wrong, the process will go forward "

rarely addressed the political issue, especially here, for one reason altogether clear: there is no real possibility of interaction. In politics, as in any argument that calls into question the most visceral belief, there is the custom to establish, even in a public context, a lonely and somewhat sterile debate. It is in fact fixed in their position, repeating his refrain, convinced a priori that the others' position is of no value (and therefore wrong), and totally uninterested in what really makes a useful discussion, that change (even if minimal, sometimes) of their position, just enough to improve it and bring it to a state of highest social usefulness. This usually does not happen. Next to the temporary discomfort that can be felt in the face of such a finding, there is instead the most important social consequence, namely the lack of dissemination of culture and information, those factors having a direct effect since the algorithm needed to obtain a ' correct view (or at least balanced) of the facts, holding a valid comparison with reality and morality. The closure leads to ignorance, and if ignorance is spread over millions of people get a people easily trained and malleable dal marketing, privo di coscienza critica, che nelle “democratiche” sedi di voto consegna inconsapevolmente un potere enorme a chi non ne ha il merito.
Credo infatti siano finiti (a meno di stravolgimenti sociali epocali) i tempi in cui il voto was proud to be considered a right, acquired by the sweat and blood of their own or their loved ones. Now this bond of sweat and blood, once a guarantee of moral and intellectual commitment in places of voting, it was lost in generation, culture poor poorly supported by parents tired of fighting, youthful superficiality fed by a consumerist society more dedicated to differentiation of the refrigerator in the supermarket rather than the exploitation of intelligence. For this reason, we must start talking about law of civil commitment, rather than voting rights, a right which must first be demonstrated (regardless of political views actually sorrette, che riguardano la propria libertà di pensiero) e che deve essere considerato un lasciapassare indispensabile per poter partecipare alla guida del Paese (in altre parole, per esercitare il proprio diritto di voto).

Ed è per This is why the common sense thing to be handled only by those who have real interest in its improvement. Participation should include liability : in short, it is necessary that each political position is supported by persons with conscience conscious, that they feel on their skin, the liability of their convictions, to suffer even when their beliefs fail the test of facts. Participation must aspire to a better future in the collective interest, and not to a mediocre future for themselves. The policy should also provide more comprehensive rules for participation: I admire a state I may be allowed to fully express an opinion on the candidate in question, allows a clear evaluation of the most effective choice of a naive candidate or the other ticking a box, I admire a state where I'm allowed to vote for individual ideas in a program that I could not agree in its entirety, I admire a state where voting will occur on the premises of simple groups of persons who purport to solve a specific problem by virtue of their powers, a state that has, at every election, dozens of winners ready to solve dozens of different problems in parallel. A system probably difficult to manage, I know, but probably less crowded (as they say, few but good).

I admire a was short in which to vote finally becomes something complicated and difficult, complicated and challenging because it is my political thought, because I believe it to be complicated and challenging every political rivaling with mine, and why pretend that it is complicated and challenging each political thought really can change things within a country.

Clandestino day

Si is in fact carried out leaflets in the square unit, where he held the 'Researchers' Night ", an initiative organized by the various research centers to bring science to the streets and make known the work of researchers to citizenship.
For the occasion, the group has distributed a leaflet to explain how the problems of immigration and those of research are connected. In fact, not only do nothing to prevent the "brain drain", but also hinder foreign scientists who wish to work in Italy. It should be noted also that in this day was announced the decision of many researchers not to conduct educational activities in protest against government policies on university and research.
The Committee also considered important to give voice to immigrants locked up in the CIE of degrees in a hunger strike against the inhuman conditions in which they are forced to live.

Kick Racism!

On 19 September the First Committee in March of Trieste participated with his team to a soccer tournament to 7 "Kick Racism" organized 24/ba down in Trieste, earning a respectable sixth place. All this took place in relaxed un'atmosfora in the name of sportsmanship and friendship, quite foreign to the climate of unbridled competition and competitive spirit which today we associate the game of football.
